Human twins are uncommon. People aren’t always having two babies at once, but it happens, and it’s even likely that you know a pair or two of twins. In horses, however, twins are beyond rare. There’s a one in 10,000 chance that twins will be born alive, and there’s only a one in 15,000 chance that they’ll survive the first two weeks of their lives.
Mocha and Cappucino beat the odds. They were born back in May of 2014, and their birth was witnessed by students and staff of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University. It was a magically moment, and the fact that both of these twins have survived to become adults is even more magical. Cappucino has grown to be adventurous and active, while Mocha is smaller and much more timid.
